So in an effort to recreate photos like this and this, I have asked around supposed-photo-pros who tell me (rather vaguely) to ‘use Photoshop’.
After much efforts to dig up more details (as well as being called ‘poyo’ by one), I was told to play around with the saturation, brightness and such.
…err alright then?
Another one with increased brightness instead of decreased.
Perhaps it’s the photographer problem lah, sigh.

err.. I suppose you should use layering and contrast. Create two layers of identical photos, contrast one of them, then clear off the contrast background. So what you get is a contrast foreground. Got it??
